i'm Karl Williams. With over 20 years experience and training within the fitness industry, physical performance has always been a passion.
This combined with decades of working across youth, family, faith and community sectors, working in many fields including learning disability, youth justice, mental health, substance misuse, drug education, suicide and self harm, it is time for me to bring these worlds together. MY PASSION GOES BEYOND FITNESS, AND TOWARD FINDING A HEALTHY BALANCE YOUR TRAINING ENHANCES YOUR LIFE RATHER THAN SOLELY DEFINING IT.
My chosen training method is CROSSFIT AND PROGRAM WITH COMPTRAIN as I believe THEY best align with my vision, with many transferrable skills to learn, lift and apply in every other aspect of your life.
I’VE BUILT EXPERIENCE COACHING CLASSES IN CROSSFIT RESPLENDENT, EQUIP, MCI AND BOUNDARY BELFAST & HAVE BEEN OFFERING MY OWN CLASSES NOW FOR OVER 3 YEARS.
In doing so I believe it will equip people to develop good form both inside and outside of the gym, to see lasting change, take new ground and not just get fit and strong physically, but mentally, emotionally and spiritually too.

MARRIED 11 YEARS & 3 CHILDREN AGED FROM 9, 8 AND 2 AND ANOTHER BOY ON THE WAY.
WE BELIEVE IN LEADING WHAT WE DO IN A WAY THAT WILL HONOUR OUR FAITH AND FAMILY AND FIGHT FOR A RHYTHM OF LIFE WHERE WE ARE PRESENT OVER PERFECT.

Level 2 CROSSFIT TRAINER & OWNER OF PIONEER TRAINING. AS A DAD OF 4 ONE OF THE DRIVING PASSIONS HE HAS FOR HIS ATHLETES IS LONGEVITY & QUALITY OF LIFE…AND TO DO SO IN COMMUNITY THAT CHEERS YOU ON.
HAVING TRAINED & COMPETED IN A VARIETY OF DISCIPLINES OVER THE YEARS, IT WAS FINDING CROSSFIT THAT IGNITED THE COMPETITIVE JUICES AGAIN.
FITNESS WAS ALWAYS AN AVENUE KARL ENJOYED WHEN WORKING ALONGSIDE OTHERS IN REGARDS MENTAL HEALTH, ADDICTION, YOUTH JUSTICE ENGAGEMENT ETC AND THIS HAS CONTINUED TO WHERE WE ARE TODAY.
AS A FORMER PASTOR, KARL’S 3 PASSIONS ARE FAITH, FAMILY AND FITNESS IN THAT ORDER. HE’S ALSO VERY PASSIONATE ABOUT A BICEP CURL AND CALF RAISE WHEN NO ONES ABOUT.

KNOWN AS THE PROFESSOR FOR HIS LOVE FOR TACTICS AND WOD BREAKDOWNS, IAN LOVES TO BRING THE BEST OUT OF PEOPLE.
HAVING discovered crossfit after years of competitive hockey and Marathon running. The mix of competition and community had him hooked quickly.
Ian enjoys celebrating all the wins big or small within the community. You can be sure that Ian will hand out the first fist pump at the end of a WOD or encouraging word when you think you can’t finish.
Since Completing Level 1 Certificate in December 2024 Ian’s goal is to bring his enthusiasm and knowledge to the community striving for that 1% better everyday.

Brontë joined Pioneer in March 2024 when she was a few months postpartum, with a desire to build strength in her recovery journey.
The sense of community, spicy WODs, and (let’s be real) some healthy competition hooked her from the offset. In fact, Brontë ended up redrafting her entire PhD thesis to make it all about CrossFit and Functional Fitness. If that’s not love, I don’t know what is.
Brontë gained her level 1 in December 2024. She is passionate about introducing CrossFit to people who think they can’t do it, and enjoys coaching mums in particular.
Her favourite kind of WOD is a long & painful chipper (preferably one with thrusters) and she’ll never say no to lots of cardio and running. She’s also partial to a bit of ABBA and believes nothing fuels those last few burpees better than a bit of Voulez-Vous.

FOR ME, WHAT WE LEARN FROM PHYSICAL TRAINING AND HOW IT CAN INFORM THE MIND, BODY AND SOUL IS WAY MORE IMPORTANT AND HAS GREATER IMPLICATIONS.”
